"Small steps with great results"

There were two things in my life that were totally out of control: 1) my blood sugars were sky rocket high and 2) I was never that heavy in my entire life. I reached a point in my life where discipline was not good enough anymore. I was at my ends whit and in my desperation I cried out to God and asked him for bold results: I wanted my blood sugars to come down from an initial 250/280 to a healthy 100 and with my weight I didn't ask him for a specific number but rather a comfortable range.

In the course of my recovery there were many little steps I had to take such as changing my diet, getting a membership at a local gym, calling a friend as an accountability partner, friends praying for me and praying myself through each and every single situation. Today I am happy to say that my blood sugars are in a normal range between 88 - 130 and my weight has tumbled down from initially 186 lb to 113 lb. I am so surprised myself and every day I seem to scratch my head in amazement that I am walking out the prayers I had prayed. Of course I continue to live a healthy lifestyle and I continue to work on my blood sugars and maintain a healthy weight. But I tell you the joy I have in my heart for God and for this change that occurred is the strength I have to continue the walk.

It is so much on my heart to say to you that prayer works and God is faithful, all the time! It is worth taking small steps and praying. The Lord wants to respond to your prayers and He wants to give you your hearts desires. It might take a while but as your focus remains on the target each step of the way you will conquer anything.

I hope this story encourages you.
Much love,
-Suzanne Tanner.

Before
After

"Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit" (James 5: 16-18 NKJV).

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:1-2 )
