“Strength to Carry the Fruit”

“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you” (John 15:16 NKJV).

A few years ago we bought an apple tree and planted it in our backyard. Year after year we pruned the tree and it seemed it was the weakest of all. The last two years it just got a few tiny apples here and there, but let me tell you this year it has made up its mind to bear tremendous fruit! I asked the Lord for insight as to why it had taken so long, and He told me that the tree and the branches first had to become strong to be able to carry the fruit that was going to come forth.

Now because the fruit is so overwhelming we had to install a wooden pole and bind the trunk to the pole to support the branches. We needed to do this right away because the tree could collapse any time under the heavy weight of all the apples. All of the fruit was in danger of losing its destiny and would ultimately perish.

I have to tell you the kind of support you need in your life are true solid Christians. They are the ones that have already been pruned by the Lord and are experienced in their walk with Him. They carry your burdens with their prayers; they give you direction and counsel, acceptance and love. They are there for you every step of the way, especially in the crucial moments to help you come into fruition. I call these precious stones that are securely tucked in our breastplate, wouldn’t you?

Have a wonderfully blessed day!
