The Convicting Power

"And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free"
(John 8:32 NKJV).

The most truthful sweeper sales person I know came to our house one day to give us a presentation of his airflow system. He’s a personal friend that we respect so we knew he would not bamboozle us. He started out by telling us to sweep a piece of carpet with our vacuum cleaner, the one we were convinced was doing a pretty decent job. Then he put a piece of cloth between the nozzle and the canister of his airflow system sweeper and after going over our carpet a second time he took the cloth away.

There it was in black & white! We could hardly believe how much dust and dirt was still hiding in our carpet and now got completely drawn out by this powerful sweeper. Needless to say that our delusion was now apparent and the results were very clear. Conviction came, the decision was made and the deal was sealed.

This leads me to ask you if you think that you live a pretty decent life? Well, truth be known, without the convicting power of the truth that is found in the Word of God you will always live a life on the surface with pretense. But when you allow the Holy Spirit to speak brutally honest with you, He will penetrate your heart and open up the way to your repentance, ultimate freedom and powerful life.

Have a wonderfully blessed day!
