"Total Surrender"

“Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me, nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done” (Luke 22:42 NKJV).

What initially was going to be a fun, adventurous 30-minute walk in the woods ended up being an ordeal of a few hours. We completely underestimated the “tic invasion” this year and needless to say exposed our little Chihuahua doggie to these ugly predators that were hiding in the bushes ready to attack.

Of course Davey tried to free himself from these tics, but after we had diagnosed that there were just too many for him to handle, we had to lay hands on him. His first reaction was resistance by trying to bite us.

Then he made his little front paws stiff as can be but eventually got so tired that he simply had to give up and surrender himself in total exhaustion into our hands. He closed his eyes and let it happen. Now my husband was free to pluck out at least 50 more smaller and bigger tics.

That’s a picture of total surrender right there isn’t? Like Davey, it is within our nature to resist the Lord and we try to work things out for ourselves, but in the end it will always result in exhaustion and frustration.

So let us all be like Jesus, quick to choose that God’s will be done in every situation. In doing so we will live a life surrendered to the Hand of God and the work on us can begin.

Have a wonderfully blessed day!
