“He Spread His Arms for You!”

“Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth”; who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed”  (1 Peter 2:22-24 NKJV).

We’re expecting. Well, actually not we but our red robin momma is, she’s expecting quadruplets. She is such a good momma. She is so considerate and caring and sits on her self-made nest all the time keeping all four beautiful eggs warm.

As I went outside one morning I was thinking about her again. It was a cold and wet morning and it was snowing. I was wondering if she might have abandoned her babies. To my surprise she was still in the nest and this time she even spread her wings so that the eggs would take no harm. This scene left an imprint in my heart and I was thinking that we can learn a lot from animals about sacrificial caring for others.

Jesus is by all means no different! He is the one and only sacrifice of God that took the stripes, the beatings, and the contempt and bore all of our sins. Although He didn’t deserve it and didn’t commit a crime He still spread His arms for you and for me. He was, is, and always will be this wonderful Savior under whose wings you will find perfect refuge.

Have a wonderfully blessed day!
