Dependability

"His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!’" ~ Matthew 25:21 NIV ~

The online printing company that will be printing my first devotionals book gives a bold promise on their webpage: We can print a proof in book form within hours and you will receive it out of state the next day. My first thought was "let’s wait and see if that is true".

By golly, was it true. The book was delivered the next day just a few minutes before the scheduled time. In today’s world where dependability is on the decline my heart was profoundly made glad as I experienced the fulfillment of their promise.

Integrity, trustworthiness, reliability, dependability, consistency and faithfulness are all characteristics that are extremely important to the Lord. Don’t get me wrong, the Kingdom of God is at stake and He will definitely take no risks. He will bring the tests right into our everyday challenges to make apparent who’s dependable or who’s not.

The dependable ones will be rewarded with authority, favor, and success and above all blessed with the happiness of God. I know it’s backbreaking grinding work but the benefits are worth striving for don’t you think so?
