"The Sadness of God"

“What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go in search of the one that went astray? And if he finds it, truly, I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that never went astray. So it is not the will of my Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish” (Matthew 18: 12 - 14 NIV).

Two Monarch caterpillars decided to stay with us for a while until their transformation was complete. One of them was wise and got into its cocoon very soon while the other one was foolish; it was busy eating leaves and enjoying his days in our vines.

But all of a sudden the weather changed unexpectedly and it got too cold for the unprepared caterpillar. Within a day or two it got very weak and I had to realize that it was dying. I had such sadness in my heart because it missed its appointed time. There was nothing I could do; it died without reaching its purpose – to be a beautiful butterfly. That day I felt such a sadness of God for every person that dies without having ever reached their destiny to know Him personally and to live a life of victory.

There is an urgency call going out to the unbelieving world today. The LORD is calling out to you and He is saying “Wake up and know that your appointed time is here. Your day of salvation has arrived. Surrender your life to Me completely and I will give you a life of purpose, inexpressible freedom, joy and satisfaction.” The Lord deeply desires for you to respond with “Yes Lord, I will.” The truth is that you have nothing to lose, but all to gain.

Have a wonderfully blessed day!

  1. It's so true. I keep hearing that the time is short. We need to seize the moment, and realize the appointed time is at hand. And as you say, we have nothing to lose, but much to gain!
