"Short Shrift"

“I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you” (Luke 10:19 NIV).

My husband took this verse very personal when he stepped out of his car and was made aware by our friend that a little snake was crawling next to him. Although it was a small one, it was surprisingly bold. It hissed at him a couple of times and even tried to attack him. My husband wasn’t going to mess with him, and made short shrift! He got out his heavy sledge hammer and crushed its head with no further delay.

This is the kind of attitude you need to exert at all times when you are dealing with your enemy the devil: you make short work of him! You take out your sledge hammer, that is the word of God in you, and you take control. You trample and overcome as you resist your adversary and as you speak the truth against him. It’s really that simple: Jesus is Lord. The King of Kings defeated him on the Cross of Calvary, stripped him of all power and now it is up to you to walk out this truth here on earth. Realize that satan’s position is under your feet and that’s where he will remain as you take authority in Jesus Name.

Have a wonderfully blessed day!
