Stand firm!

“But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself in this way” (Daniel 1,8 NIV).

It is obvious that Daniel knew that a rulers delicacies were deceptive and not to be craved for. He was a man of integrity and a man with a clear mission from God. He knew his God and his identity in Him. He knew he was called to be a leader and to have an impact in society. He was one that stood firm in his calling, no matter what kind of temptations would come along his way. He was determined not to bow before worldly authorities, but to worship the one and only God worthy of praise and honor, the creator of heaven and earth. With this attitude in his heart he went forth to minister to the King of Babylon with the gifts he had received from above.

My question for you today is: Has the LORD called you to a higher level of authority? Has he spoken to you to go forth and preach the good news to the lost that stand in a position of authority? Then you need to lose your fear of man and determine in your heart that whatever you do you would want to please God alone. Do not be like Moses that didn’t want to confront Pharaoh. Be like Daniel and have a godly impact in the society.

Have a wonderfully blessed day!
