Change Your Perspective!

“This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24 NIV)".

There are mornings where you can just sense that this is going to be a good day. It is as if all the cares and the spiritual attacks have been lifted away from you and you can walk so easily in this promise the Lord is speaking of. But for many of us these days seem to be rare ones. Often we see ourselves confronted with problems, opposition, and the issues of our own hearts. These are the days where you know that you are walking on the narrow path. How then can you possibly find joy in all these circumstances when you are so overwhelmed by them?

Let me help you here. Whether you feel good or not, it is a fact that the Lord has made this day and He wants you to be happy! He wants you to be glad and know that He is in control of every day. After all, he is the creator of all good things, right? So it all starts with your perspective towards this day and your attitude towards God. Here is a simple question for you to answer: “Is your glass half full or half empty?” Do you view your situation negatively, or could it be an opportunity to grow, for example in patience, love or obedience? Whatever it might be, chose to learn regardless of how you feel. Believe the Lord and His word. Take every opportunity to grow in the Lord and learn from Him and you will soon realize that your days are filled with joy and gladness.

Have a wonderfully blessed day!

“We Belong To Each Other”

“Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others” (Romans 12:4-5 NIV).

For a long time we wanted to renovate our dining room and so one day we had a Christian friend coming over to remodel the ceiling. He is a craftsman that works very structured and proper. So he sealed off all the doors with a plastic covering because he wanted the rest of the house to be protected from the dirt and dust that would derive from the room he was working in. The plastic covering he put up was blurred and so I couldn’t exactly see him. I could hear him though, I could talk to him and I could even stand before him. But I have to tell you, this plastic wall brought such a separation to us. It was awkward and there was nothing I could do. I had to endure this separation. From my perspective he was isolated and separated from us. One evening however when he finished part of his work, he tore down the plastic covering and stepped out into our sitting room. There he was, our brother in Christ! The separation and isolation was no longer there and finally we were able to talk to him face to face again and enjoy our sweet fellowship.

You know, we are definitely not called to be isolated and separated from each other. No we are called to belong to each other. That’s where the power lies and that’s were the blessing is found. Imagine for a moment, that you could let down your walls and take all your masks off and for once be yourself! It’s possible and it is available to you. I pray that you would dare to step out of your isolation today and step into the blessing that is found in the fellowship of brothers and sisters in Christ.

Have a wonderfully blessed day!

Run To The Lord!

“The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit” (John 3:8 NIV).

Have you ever watched when the wind blows along the ground and it carries away the leaves? Sometimes it looks like the leaves are dancing in circles. Sometimes it looks like they are just carried away by the wind. And sometimes it looks as if they are running after something. All depending on how the wind blows there is a different scene. But in all there is such an excitement and activity in the air when the wind comes and blows away all these leaves from the ground. These leaves cannot resist the wind – it is just too strong for them! They are lifted up from the ground at once and carried away to another place. Just watch them and you will see them dancing around and around. It gets so intense sometimes that maybe you can even hear them singing and rejoicing.

And the Lord would say unto you: “Oh how I desire for you to come to me with a spirit of freedom. Oh how I desire for you to laugh and be joyful before Me. Oh how I desire for My children to run to Me and be glad that I care about them. Oh how I long for them to be lifted up and to be carefree.”

This is the Lords heart for his children. Will you dare to be carefree today and to rejoice in the Lord your God?

Have a wonderfully blessed day!

“You Are So Beautiful”

“For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength”(1 Corinthians 1, 25 NIV).

It’s amazing how a digital camera can capture the smallest and to the human eye most insignificant flowers! There is a function in my camera that can focus on plants in a very special way. This means that the focus is on the object and everything else like the background is blurred. The object itself, may it be so tiny, can be magnified through the camera and bring out an incredible beauty and detail of the flower. I have discovered this over and over again in my walks to the park. You know I would walk with my camera in my hand looking out for some nice flowers. And so one day I was just so surprised at some really small flowers that were growing alongside the path. I took a closer look at them and was so amazed at their beauty! I would have missed out on a great blessing would the LORD have not pointed them out to me!

This is how the LORD sees you! Perhaps your beauty is not recognized by the world, but I need to tell you that the LORD sees you! Like with this camera His eyes are on you and He sees only you. His perspective about you is magnificent and He sees every little inner and outer detail about you. He doesn’t care about your background and everything around you. His focus is entirely on you and He thinks you are absolutely beautiful.

So do not think any longer that you are insignificant, because you are not. Just remember the eyes of the LORD are on you and He recognizes who you are. You have been made in His image and His glory and power are being manifest through you. Are you ready to puzzle the world?

Have a wonderfully blessed day!
